Fair Development Project Receives Funding from Ohio House of Representatives

Ohio State Representative Jon Cross announced $500,000 in funding for the Hardin County Fair to jumpstart their livestock complex construction project.

“By modernizing the Hardin County Fairgrounds, we are preserving infrastructure and tradition for the enjoyment of generations to come,” said Cross

In 2021, the fair announced a vision to replace the aging livestock complex on the fairgrounds. In the time since the fair board has worked to refine its plans and crunch the numbers to ensure the utmost fiscal responsibility. This investment marks the beginning of the vision becoming a reality.

“We’re very thankful for Representative Cross championing our county fair, and for the Ohio House of Representatives for granting our funding request,” said Brad Murphy, Hardin County Fair Board President. “This capital investment marks the beginning of an era of continued progress for the Hardin County Fair.”

Work will begin this fall following the 2024 fair.

We’re working with key partners and stakeholders in a multi-phased approach over several years that will make sure exhibitors always have a place to show and the community has a fair to enjoy through these upgrades.” said Rob Wilson, Building & Ground Committee Chairman.
