Fair board sets agenda for April meeting

The Hardin County Ag Society set the next meeting for April 2, 2025 with the following agenda.

Agenda Topics 

  1. Call to Order 
  2. Guests (3–5-minute speaking time allotted) 
  3. Correspondence – Patti Casteel, Jason Jones – Principal KHS, Dina & Steve Eaton, Kenton Little League 
  4. Minutes of last meeting 
  5. Financial Reports & approve 990 
  6. Bills to Approve 
  7. Committee Reports: 
    • Jr Fair Board Report 
    • Executive Committee 
      • Raises for office staff 
    • Strategic Planning 
    • Development Committee 
      • Approve site for new building 
    • Grounds Committee 
      • Applications being received for summer mower position 
      • JR Fair Horse Barn repairs 
      • Indoor Storage (all but vehicles) being picked up Saturday, April 12th. Reminder letters were mailed to those with winter storage. 
    • Camping Committee 
      • Waiting on a few new campers to pay. The new 28 spots for fair campers will be called when sites are done. 
    •  Entertainment Committee 
      • Concert Entertainer for the 2025 Hardin County Fair will be announced Tuesday, April 22nd, with tickets going on sale that Friday – April 25th. 
      • Harness Racing Contracts will be sent this month, a note about change in start time to 6pm from 7pm will be noted 
    • Livestock Committees 
      • Minutes from Horse Committee 
      • State of Ohio Dept. of Agriculture Poultry Proclamation for Hardin County 
      • Poultry Clinic – Saturday, April 19th, 10am in Show Arena 
      • Vet contract needs updated and sent 
      • Dairy Beef Feeder Weigh in and tagging is scheduled for Saturday, May 17th from 8-10:30am 
    • Rides, Concessions & Vendors 
      • Concession & Vendor Contracts are now available to be submitted online, with many already being done. 
      • Total changeover from vendors being in the Youth Ag. Center to the Machinery building will begin soon. All of Fine Arts will be moved to the Youth Ag. Center. 
    •  Advertising/Sponsorship Committee 
      • Online Sponsorships have started with money coming in 
    • Tech. Committee
    • Other Committees 
      • Fair Foundation 
      • Items sold at Consignment Sale 
      • Consignment Sale History report and expense report 

Old Business

  • Fair Book is ready to go to print. 
  • Turn in judges for the fair, contracts will be sent in May 

New Business

  • Rentals for April and May 
  • Box Seat letters will be sent this month. 
  • Fair Spring District Meeting update 
  • Our May Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7th at 7pm in the Fair Office.
