- Roof replaced on Youth and Ag Center
- Arts/Crafts Door hardware replaced
- New roof, hot water heater and furnace replaced in the Beef RR
- New roof and 2 sides to the Beef Restaurant replaced.
- Door added to the Machinery Bldg entrance that was affected by the tornado
- Shop wall and garage door being replaced
- Fence around Horse Arena being replaced
- Damages for the grounds will go past what insurance pays, therefore a relief fund was established and many donations have been coming in. One huge one was Invenergy for $10,000.
- Camping Committee
- All those on the fair camping wait list have been called or calls were tried numerous times. Still 2 spots are available for water and electricity in the East Camping area.
- Will be submitting an application for a temporary camping permit for the Ohio Good Sam group – coming in July.
- Entertainment Committee
- Contract needs signed for Studimo
- Saturday night concert announcement
- Received $36,000 from OHHA towards Tornado Relief
- Livestock Committees
- Judges are needed, with emails, addresses and phone numbers for Dairy, Beef, Dairy Beef Feeders, Dogs and horses – other dept. Judges’ contracts have been sent with several already ret’d signed.
- Poultry Education Day that was held in April
- Fair Vet Contract needs signed by Diamond M (they have it)
- Dairy Beef Feeder Weigh in and Tagging is scheduled for Saturday, May 16 from 8-10:30am
- Goat and Sheep Weigh In and Tagging is scheduled for Thursday, June 11th from 5-8pm. (New day of week and time of day this year)
- Rides, Concessions & Vendors
- Applications are ready to be submitted for concessions and vendors – go the fair’s website to submit
- Advertising/Sponsorship Committee
- Submissions have started to come in. Anyone interested in being a sponsor for the 2026 Hardin County fair needs to submit an application on the fair’s website.
- Tech. Committee
- Other Committees
- Will be transferring money from Middle Field Bank to HSLC after April reconciliation is done. JR Fair Sale money will be transferred at that time, too.
- 2026 Fair Book
Old Business:
- Gate workers for the fair – contract needed
- Need judges for the 2026 fair for Hay/Grains, Open Cultural and Culinary Arts, and Antiques. Others have been sent and some have been returned.
- The Cybersecurity Plan needs approval.
- The pastor for the opening ceremony has been secured.
- Box seat payments were due at the end of April with a few needing follow-up calls.
New Business:
- May & June Rentals
- Meeting date for July Board meeting – Jake on vacation July 8th, the date the meeting was moved to. Need a group consensus for either having the meeting on July 1st or July 8th. Judi will be gone for both dates.
- Boots and Buckles 4-H club T-shirt campaign for Tornado relief.
- Our June Board Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, June 3rd at 7pm in the Community Bldg. with a Joint meeting with JR Fairboard at 6pm.
