Mandatory Pullorum Testing for Hardin County Fair Poultry Entrants

Pullorum testing is required this year to compete at the Hardin Co. Fair. Turkeys, Chickens and Game Birds are subject to a negative blood test if not obtained from a certified NPIP Hatchery or having an NPIP Form 15 which expires ONE YEAR from Hatch Date. A rapid blood test can be performed up to 90 days before exhibition. A rapid blood test cannot be used on turkey’s and a vet will be required to take a turkey blood sample. Waterfowl (Ducks and Geese) are exempt from testing. NPIP form 15 will be required to verify age of birds in Poultry Classes Div. 800 Class 1, 801 Class 1, 802 Class 1, 804 Class 8
This was pulled right from Rule 1 from the Fairbook. You must show that your birds have a negative test or NPIP Form 15 before UNLOADING at the Fair.

The Poultry Department is Hosting a Testing Day on August 15th at the Fairgrounds from 9-Noon. Birds entered in the fair will be tested free of charge.
