Buyer Guidelines
- All sales that take place at this Event are final. Returns, refunds, or exchanges will not be issued without express written consent of the Hardin County Agricultural Society.
- Any bidder has the option to raise their bid at any time during a sale, up until the word Sold is stated. Once the word Sold is stated, the Buyer who offered the highest bid amount and Auctioneer have entered into a verbal agreement, and that Buyer is required to pay the winning bid amount. No other bids can or will be accepted after the word Sold.
- Buyers will not be permitted to “reserve” any item that has been consigned. All items that have been consigned will be auctioned off to the highest bidder in one of three sale rings on Saturday, March 8.
- All purchased items must be paid for the day of sale – by 4pm. Buyers must be prepared to pay for items purchased with cash, check, or credit. If a Buyer chooses to pay with credit, that Buyer must also pay a 4% processing fee. Your paid receipt is then shown at the Main Gate to exit with your items. A driver’s license is required to purchase items using a check.
- Any resale taking place on the Hardin County Fairgrounds is prohibited. Any person engaged in reselling an item on the grounds will not be allowed to exit the grounds by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office.

Buyer is buying any and all items in the condition in which they presently exist, whether or not any potential faults are immediately apparent.
- Buyers, and all persons accompanying Buyers, hereby accept ownership and responsibility of all personal property purchased at this event, and irrevocably release and save and hold harmless the Hardin County Agricultural Society, its affiliates, and board members from any cost or liability whatsoever arising from loss, damage, personal injury, illness, or any circumstance beyond their control occurring to a Buyer, their livestock, or any person that a Buyer may authorize to control their personal and real property after the purchase of any equipment, vehicles, forages, or any other item for sale at this Event.

Consignor Guidelines
- A consignor is defined as a person or entity that sells goods, and is legally responsible for the goods until the auctioneer says “sold.”
- Consignors will be assigned a consignor’s number at registration to identify the Consignor’s Lot Number and will also serve as the Consignor’s buyer number if the Consignor wishes to purchase items at the sale. This number can be found in the upper left corner of the Consignment Contract and Settlement Form next to the term “Lot #.”
- A Consignor needs no other number besides the number mentioned above. If the Consignor is “protecting,” or sending anyone in his or her place to “protect,” the items that the Consignor has listed for sale, the Consignor or the Consignor’s representative must use the number assigned to the Consignor at registration.
- To protect an item, the original Consignor of the item, or the person designated by the Consignor to represent them, must be the highest bidder on the item they wish to “protect.”
- “Protected” items then become a “buyback” item. The Hardin County Agricultural Society reserves the right to charge the Consignor half the commission rate that corresponds with the “sale price” of the “buyback” item. The maximum “buyback” commission is $100 per item.
- All sales that take place at this Event are final. Returns, refunds, or exchanges will not be issued without express written consent of the Hardin County Agricultural Society.

No vehicles will be sold without a clear and original title. Failure to turn these titles into the sale office by 5:00 PM on Friday will result in the consignment not being sold.
- Absolutely no unmounted tires will be accepted for sale.
- Any item that does not sell must be removed from the fairgrounds by the Consignor no later than the Wednesday following the sale. (March 12)
- Consignors who are also Buyers will not be allowed to deduct their bill for the items they purchased from the amount they are owed for the items they sell.
- Consignors understand that checks for items sold will not be issued to Consignors on the day of the sale. Before checks are issued, it is required that the Hardin County Agricultural Society’s books be reconciled.
